Hotels and Resorts in Anguilla

Hotels and resorts in Anguilla offer both luxury and privacy

The government of Anguilla limits commercial development on the island. You won't find big, international all-inclusive resorts with casinos and other large scale amenities here. Nevertheless, hotels and resorts in Anguilla are among the nicest in the Caribbean.

Luxury resorts on the island offer guests an indulgent experience, complete with spa services and world class wine and cuisine. Hotel restaurants are ubiquitous, even at the smaller resorts and hotels. Many of these hotels value privacy, and guests can rent rooms and villas with private balconies and views. Rooms and suites in the island's most luxurious resorts are spacious and ornate, with designer furnishings, marble bathrooms, Jacuzzis, and two-person bathtubs.

A large number of the hotels in Anguilla are located in the popular southwest and northeast areas of the island, home to some of the most inviting and captivating beaches in the Caribbean. Travelers can enjoy a day of snorkeling and snacking on sorbet in a beach chair before enjoying dinner at a fine restaurant. Small intimate inns offer suites, studios, and rooms, some of which may have kitchens. While a few of the island's resorts will have about 100 rooms, many will have 20 or fewer, giving travelers additional privacy and intimacy.

Amenities at these hotels include complimentary breakfasts, health and fitness centers, spas, watersports, bars, restaurants, tennis, shops, Internet access, and more. Meal plans can typically be purchased for an extra fees and can include one or more meals per day.

Anguilla can be quite an expensive destination, although travelers can find reasonable rates and accommodations, especially outside of the peak winter holiday season. Holiday season rates can start as low as $90(USD) to $120(USD), but will quickly climb up to $245(USD) and continue to rise above $1,000(USD) a night. The most expensive suites and hotel villas cost between $3,000(USD) and $6,450(USD). Most room rates are based on double occupancy. Suite rates may be based on a relevant occupancy limit. Traveling in the off season will save travelers considerable amounts of money, but some hotels may close during the months of September and October.

The small size and quiet atmosphere of Anguilla, coupled with the expense of traveling and staying there, may deter some people from visiting the island. Those with a discerning eye, however, will be drawn to the island and can find reasonable rates throughout the year.
