Taking the ferry is a unique and charming way to navigate Anguilla's waterways and visit neighboring islands. Planning a day trip to nearby St. Martin is no problem at all with the frequent ferry services from Anguilla. This little tropical island is a great place to explore the wonders of the Caribbean.
Travelers don't need to make reservations to catch a ride on any of the island's fantastic ferries. All you have to do to take the ferry from Anguilla to St. Martin is put your name and passport number on the manifest at the pier as soon as you get there. Ferries are scheduled to run every half hour from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. between Blowing Point, Anguilla and Marigot, St. Martin; trips take approximately 20 minutes. Because schedules are subject to change, always check ahead to verify local schedules. Ferry fares are reasonably priced at $12(USD), $15(USD) in the evening, in addition to the departure tax. When returning to Anguilla from St. Martin you will need to pay this fare once again, as well as a $3(USD) departure fee.
Once you have purchased your ferry ticket, make sure that all of your luggage is close at hand to prevent your bags from being lost or stolen. Always keep your passport in a secure and handy location. It will be checked before you leave the port, as you are traveling to a different country. Once the captain has made the announcement, you can begin to board the ferry.
