Upon arriving in this intriguing paradise, travelers must present certain identification and documentation before being allowed to enter Anguilla. Knowing what items to bring on your vacation will allow you to arrive and depart the island with very few delays.
Passports
All visitors arriving on the island of Anguilla must present a passport that is valid for at least six more months. Previously, citizens of the United States were able to enter Anguilla with proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or driver's license. However, the United States government has recently issued a statement that requires all U.S. citizens to have a valid passport to travel to Caribbean Islands, including Anguilla. U.S. citizens will be required to present their passport upon return to the States. All travelers must also show proof of a return or onward ticket in order to gain access to Anguilla.
Visas
Citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada do not need a visa to enter Anguilla, as long as they plan to stay in the country for no more than six months. Citizens of the following countries are required to present a visa before entering Anguilla:
